Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (6:00–16:30) | 13-Week Assignment | On-Call Required
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist in cardiovascular operating room procedures, supporting an average of 3 cardiac cases per day
- Perform First Assist roles during complex cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Support procedures including CABG, mitral valve replacement, aortic aneurysm repair, ASD repair, ECMO, VAD management, atherectomy, cardiomyoplasty, and pericardial window
- Fulfill on-call obligations, including call coverage at least two days per week and one to two weekends per six-week schedule
- Float to the main OR as needed when CVOR case volume is low, performing only tasks within demonstrated competencies
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA — pending certification not accepted
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Must not be a first-time traveler
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with EPIC EMR
- Demonstrated competency in First Assist roles within a high-volume cardiovascular surgical environment
- Familiarity with advanced cardiovascular procedures including ECMO and VAD management
