Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to high-acuity antepartum and obstetrical patients in a 19-bed unit
- Manage patients requiring Magnesium Sulfate therapy and preterm labor interventions
- Monitor and interpret fetal monitoring data in accordance with AWHONN standards
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Meditech and CPIN systems
- Adhere to a 1:5 patient ratio while delivering safe, evidence-based obstetrical care
- Float to other units as needed and fulfill scheduling requirements including holiday coverage as discussed
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Texas RN License — temporary licenses will not be accepted
- Minimum 2 years of High-Risk Labor and Delivery or Antepartum nursing experience
- Current BLS certification
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification
- Demonstrated experience with Magnesium Sulfate management and preterm labor management
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification and/or RNC (Registered Nurse Certified) in obstetrics
- Prior experience with Meditech electronic health record system
- Experience caring for high-acuity obstetrical patients in a hospital setting
