Registered Nurse ICU

Job Title

• ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - SICU

Schedule / Job Type

• Travel, 13-week assignment, Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care to surgical patients, especially oncology cases, in a 16-bed SICU setting.
• Perform ICU procedures including central line placements, bedside thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, cardioversions, intubations, and ventilator management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech electronic health record system.
• Adhere to hospital policies and unit guidelines regarding floating, attendance, dress code, and infection control.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas (no temporary licenses accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, specifically in a surgical or oncology population
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with ICU equipment such as ventilators, NxStage, Arctic Sun, and GE cardiac output monitors
• Ability to perform advanced ICU procedures

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CCRN certification preferred
• Experience with CRRT, hypothermia protocols, and Meditech system is advantageous
• Strong clinical skills in critical care and ability to work the night shift with flexible scheduling
