Key Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures using pulsed x-ray energy to produce diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed independent practitioners.
• Verify patient orders, identity, and history; continuously monitor patients throughout exams and document all relevant care activities in the electronic health record.
• Maintain image quality assurance by producing quality images for radiologist review, archiving images to PACS, and coordinating after-hours tele-radiology transmissions.
• Conduct equipment warm-up and quality control checks, report malfunctions and environmental safety concerns to appropriate personnel, and manage supply inventory.
• Apply radiation protection principles including ALARA practices for both patient and personal safety during all procedures.
• Assist with training new employees and provide supervision and instruction to imaging students during clinical rotations.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology Program.
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registry in Radiography RT(R).
• Current Commonwealth of Kentucky Radiation License with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent customer service abilities.
• Ability to operate all equipment related to the role and maintain continuing education hours as required by the licensing agency.
