Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed orthopedic unit serving both elective orthopedic and orthopedic trauma patients
- Perform IV starts, Foley and straight catheterization, and CPM (continuous passive motion) device application-
- Support early mobilization protocols and assist with nerve block pump and On-Q ball management
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, bedside RNs, and patient care technicians at a 1:5 or 1:6 patient ratio
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital setting
- At least 1 year of experience specifically in orthopedic nursing
- Current, valid RN licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Medical/surgical nursing experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Prior experience with Meditech EMR
