Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | 8-hour shifts (64–80 hours per pay period) | Call rotation required (1–2 days per week, every 2nd–4th weekend, rotating holidays)

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate surgery cases across multiple surgical specialties including general, OB/GYN, urology, orthopedics, podiatry, ENT, cardiovascular, and bariatrics
• Pull, prep, set up, clean, and turn over OR rooms using a preference card system
• Operate and manage surgical equipment including arthroscopic pumps and shavers, cautery machines, laser, fracture table, and C-arm X-ray
• Document patient care using computerized charting (Epic) and manage medications through the Pyxis system
• Participate in call rotation including weekends and rotating holidays
• Float within the peri-operative department as needed, including pre-op, post-op, outpatient services, and PACU

Required Qualifications

• Active South Dakota Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Strong organizational and documentation skills; experience working from preference card systems

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current PALS certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Familiarity with peri-operative workflows including PACU and pre/post-op care settings
