Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Onsite | Every other weekend required; weekend schedule subject to change based on need

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Cardiac Stepdown unit for patients with diagnoses including CAD s/p CABG, cardiac valve repair, lung cancer s/p VATS, and esophageal cancer
• Monitor and manage post-surgical cardiovascular patients, including administration of cardiac drips and insulin drips
• Perform and interpret EKG readings; candidates must pass a pre-start EKG competency exam
• Accurately administer and reconcile medications using the Omnicell medication system
• Document all patient care activities and assessments within the EPIC electronic medical records system
• Float to other units or campuses as needed based on census, performing only tasks within demonstrated and documented competencies

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC EMR experience
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Cardiac Stepdown or equivalent unit; first-time travelers must have a minimum of 3 years of specialty experience
• Experience with cardiac drips and insulin drips required
• Must successfully pass a pre-start EKG competency exam

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of overall nursing experience in the field
• Prior experience caring for post-surgical cardiovascular patients
• Familiarity with Omnicell medication management systems
