Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36–48 Hours Per Week | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all age groups in a high-volume Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center environment.
- Deliver care across a range of acuity levels, maintaining nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 for critical and trauma patients and 1:3–4 for all other patients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff to meet patient care needs around the clock.
- Float to other units and hospital facilities as needed to support staffing requirements.
- Document patient care accurately using the facility's electronic medical records system.
- Adhere to facility dress code and all departmental policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid Compact license; temporary licenses are not accepted. Must be verifiable through NURSYS.
- Current AHA or Red Cross certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required.
- Minimum of 18 months of nursing experience under the highest level of professional license, with at least 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of Emergency Department nursing experience.
- Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical records platform.
- Experience working in a high-volume trauma or stroke center setting.
