Key Responsibilities
- Conduct individual student physical therapy evaluations and re-evaluations to assess functional motor abilities relevant to school tasks, including mobility, positioning, balance, transfers, and gross motor skills
- Develop and implement individualized intervention and treatment plans aligned with each student's educational goals as outlined in IEP or 504 plans
- Provide direct physical therapy services individually or in small groups within school settings, including classrooms, therapy areas, or other least-restrictive environments
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, school staff, parents, and other related-service providers to integrate therapy strategies into daily school routines
- Participate in IEP, 504, and multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute to educational planning, goal setting, and progress review
- Maintain required documentation and records including treatment records, time sheets, and any applicable billing statistics in accordance with district and state policy
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree or higher in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution
- Valid Florida Physical Therapy licensure or eligibility for licensure
- Knowledge of pediatric physical therapy, child development, gross motor functions, and adaptive equipment
- Familiarity with educational laws and regulations relevant to special education, including IEP, 504 Plans, and IDEA
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to travel between multiple school sites and adapt to varying work environments
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in pediatric or school-based therapy settings, ideally within a special education environment
- Experience with adaptive equipment, assistive technology, mobility aids, and environmental modifications to support student access and participation
- Familiarity with school-based service delivery frameworks and IEP documentation requirements
