Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | 5x8s (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, occasionally 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM) or 4x10s (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM) based on clinic needs | 13-week contract | 40 hours per week | No call requirement | No weekend requirement
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver external beam radiation therapy treatments, including IMRT, to patients in a clinical oncology setting
- Operate and utilize Varian linear accelerators and CT simulation equipment, including CBCT/kV/mV imaging
- Perform beam modifying and positioning techniques, including use of wedges and custom molds
- Float between two regional clinical sites within the coastal Wilmington, NC area based on volume and coverage needs
- Work collaboratively alongside at least one other therapist at all times; an MD and RN are on-site throughout the day
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and isolation precautions; participate in storm or disaster response teams as required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience required
- Active ARRT (T) certification required
- Current BLS certification required
- NC state license or compact license required (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
- Proficiency with ARIA and Varian systems (21ex/ix or TrueBeam)
- Experience with adult acute care, CT simulation, IMRT, PET scan, MRI, and tumor localization
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Pinnacle (Philips) and Eclipse (Varian) treatment planning systems
- Familiarity with Siemens CT simulator equipment
- Prior travel therapy experience; first-time travelers are accepted
- Experience working in a multi-site or float coverage clinical environment
