Multilingual Learner (MLL) Lead Teacher

Primary Purpose: Committed, and culturally competent MLL lead teachers who have the power to amplify children's potential by creating a school experience that affirms, values, and challenges students each day. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • DESE ESL/ELL Teaching Licensure
  • Minimum 2yrs of ESL/ELL teaching exp
  • Elementary experience preferred

Skills:

  • Computer literacy and baseline familiarity with Google Suite
  • Passion for subject/content area and demonstrated commitment to professional learning
  • Demonstrated ability to drive student growth and achievement and to create a warm, inclusive, rigorous learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Develop and deliver language-focused instruction, set student language goals, and use assessment data to drive academic growth.
  • Collaborate with co-teachers, families, and school teams to support Multilingual Learners (MLLs), including students with IEPs.
  • Administer and manage MLL assessments (ACCESS, TELL), maintain accurate documentation, and complete required progress reports and Student Success Plans.
  • Provide guidance to teachers on effective language supports and instructional strategies for MLL students.
  • Participate in professional development, coaching, team meetings, and school-wide initiatives to continuously improve instructional practices.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues while maintaining consistent communication regarding student progress.
  • Support daily school operations through assigned duties (e.g., lunch, bus, dismissal, classroom coverage) and uphold positive student culture and behavior expectations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, strong communication, data-driven decision-making, and a commitment to equity, accountability, and continuous growth.
  • Perform physical duties as needed, including moving throughout the classroom, lifting up to 20 lbs., and responding appropriately during student emergencies.
