Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Temp-to-Hire Possibility
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pulmonary care for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult patients under physician direction with minimal supervision, including patient assessments and respiratory care plan development
- Perform airway management procedures including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning, airway retaining device placement and maintenance, and management of BiPAP and CPAP devices
- Manage and operate mechanical ventilators; deliver aerosolized drugs and administer oxygen delivery devices with therapeutic monitoring
- Perform and analyze bloodgas collection, chest film analysis, and EKG analysis; maintain accurate and complete documentation
- Respond to emergency situations including Code Blue and Code White events
- May serve as Shift Leader or Team Leader; advanced practice duties may include pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, and transport duties
Required Qualifications
- Active Respiratory Therapist (RT) or Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the state of employment required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the NBRC required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum of 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
- Experience working with adult patient populations
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 1–3 years of respiratory therapy experience in an acute care or hospital setting
- Experience with advanced therapeutic gas management including INO and HeO2, nocturnal SpO2 evaluation, or polysomnography
- Prior travel therapy experience or ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments
