Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | 36 Hours per Week Guaranteed | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed renal unit specializing in acute and chronic kidney disease, including conditions requiring renal replacement therapy
• Monitor and care for post-hemodialysis patients and patients undergoing ongoing peritoneal dialysis
• Maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
• Collaborate with community nephrologists, family practice providers, and hospitalists to coordinate comprehensive renal patient care
• Support patients throughout all stages of their care journey, from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up
• Float to other units or facilities as needed

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid Compact RN license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
• Minimum of 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional licensure, with at least 1 year of recent experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry
• Willingness to float to other units and hospital facilities as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience
• Prior experience with renal patients, hemodialysis, or peritoneal dialysis
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
