Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Respiratory (Nights)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Onsite | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36–48 Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 42-bed Medical Respiratory unit specializing in acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including pneumonia, COPD, and shortness of breath
• Maintain a 1:6 nursing ratio on the general medical respiratory unit and a 1:4 ratio within the 8-bed respiratory step-down unit
• Care for a diverse medical patient population including those with GI issues, diabetes, and occasional stroke and surgical presentations
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary team rounds to support coordinated, patient-centered care
• Float to other units or facilities as needed per assignment requirements
• Document patient care accurately using the facility EMR system (Meditech)

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
• Minimum of 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional licensure, with at least 1 year of recent experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry specialty
• Willingness to float to other units and hospital facilities as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of experience in a Medical Surgical / Telemetry setting
• Prior experience with Meditech EMR
• Background in respiratory patient care including step-down or progressive care environments
