Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) required | Every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 26-bed Telemetry Intermediate Care unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
- Monitor and manage patients with common diagnoses including CHF, COVID pneumonia, atrial fibrillation with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope
- Administer and manage telemetry-related medications including Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitroglycerin under central telemetry monitoring
- Operate and monitor non-invasive respiratory support equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and Vapotherm (no ventilators)
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
- Float to other units as needed, maintaining the same patient ratio as the assigned unit
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Ability to pass a drug screening; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
- Willingness to comply with weekend and holiday rotation requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a telemetry, intermediate care, PCU, or stepdown nursing environment
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR
- Experience managing patients on central telemetry monitoring and vasoactive or cardiac drips
