Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | 5x8 Hours (6:45 AM – 3:15 PM) | Monday–Friday | Call requirement includes one day per week and every fifth weekend
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization lab setting at a 1:1 patient ratio
- Assist with and circulate during procedures including percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), left and right heart catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, and PFO/ASD closures
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, thrombolytics, and other cardiac medications
- Perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs, monitor for dysrhythmias, and manage hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz/pulmonary artery lines
- Operate specialized equipment including Impella, EKOS, Penumbra, Shockwave, Roto, and GE Mac Lab system; document using Epic and Pyxis
- Participate in on-call rotation and float as needed within or near the facility
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab setting
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Proficiency in sheath removal and monitoring, activated clotting time (ACT), cardioversion, and infection prevention/isolation precautions
- Experience with blood product administration, IV infusion pumps, and starting IVs
- Familiarity with Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale and malignant hyperthermia protocols
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with advanced procedures such as TAVI/TAVR, Impella insertion, rotablader atherectomy, and upper/lower extremity angiography
- Proficiency with vascular closure systems, topical hemostasis agents, external compression devices, and laser-assisted procedures
- Experience with PICC line and implanted port care, central line insertion assistance, and ventilator monitoring
- Knowledge of end-tidal CO2 monitoring, hypothermia protocols, and radiation and laser safety
