Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours per Week | Every Other Weekend and Every Other Holiday Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery unit supporting both low-risk and high-risk obstetric populations, including certified nurse midwife and maternal fetal medicine patients
- Perform clinical assessments, fetal monitoring, and nursing interventions throughout the labor and delivery process
- Cross-train to Mother/Baby unit as expected; may be floated to NICU (feeder/grower level) within scope of practice
- Operate within a unit environment that includes private labor rooms, private triage beds, and OB operating rooms
- Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner using Epic electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or Virginia RN license pending (license must be in-hand by the Wednesday prior to start date)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- Fetal Monitoring certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
- Epic electronic health record experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience in both low-risk and high-risk Labor and Delivery settings
- Familiarity with Mother/Baby and NICU feeder/grower patient populations
