Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations of students referred for occupational therapy to assess functional strengths and needs in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, handwriting, self-care, and activities of daily living
  • Interpret evaluation results and prepare reports, recommendations, and IEP goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement individualized OT intervention plans including direct therapy, small group, and consultative approaches; monitor student progress and adjust plans as needed
  • Participate in IEP meetings as a member of the student's multidisciplinary team and consult with teachers, instructional staff, and families to embed OT strategies and accommodations into classroom and home settings
  • Provide training and in-service to school staff regarding OT strategies, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, progress, and compliance with applicable regulations; manage therapy materials, supplies, and equipment

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Valid Florida Occupational Therapy licensure or eligibility for licensure
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to special education, including IDEA and applicable state rules
  • Ability to travel between multiple school sites district-wide and work flexible schedules
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience in pediatric or school-based therapy settings
  • Familiarity with transition planning for students moving between educational or post-school environments
  • Experience serving as a liaison between educational, medical, and community stakeholders
