Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized surgical assistance in the CVOR unit for open heart and vascular procedures, including CABG, MVR, TVR, AVR, Vats, and other vascular surgeries.
• Set up and maintain sterile technique for procedures such as central line and arterial line setup, Belmont, and cell saver operations.
• Assist in room preparation, turnover, and ensuring availability of disposables and instrument sets as needed.
• Collaborate closely with nursing staff and other team members to ensure patient safety and efficient workflow.
• Float to main operating rooms as needed, supporting various surgical cases and emergencies.
• Maintain documentation accuracy within Meditech Expanse system, demonstrating attention to detail and compliance.

Required Qualifications

• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification or equivalent (CNOR preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent CST experience in a surgical or CVOR setting.
• Proficiency in sterile technique, room setup, and surgical procedures including open heart and vascular surgeries.
• Ability to operate Belmont, ESU, and other specialized surgical equipment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Flexibility to work days and float as assigned.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with advanced surgical setups: A-line, art line, Belmont setup, and cell saver.
• Knowledge of hospital policies and guidelines specific to CVOR procedures.
• Previous experience in high-acuity surgical environments.
