Orthopedic Registered Nurse
Location: Winston-Salem, NC
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Night shifts (4 nights per week, 12-hour shifts)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized orthopedic nursing care to post-surgical, neuro spine, med-surg, and patient populations.
• Monitor and manage pain control on a fast-paced unit.
• Collaborate with healthcare team for patient assessments, treatments, and recovery plans.
• Follow strict protocols for unit procedures, including IV starts and telemetry monitoring.
• Maintain compliance with safety and documentation standards, including passing EKG testing prior to start.
• Float to other medical-surgical units as needed to meet staffing demands.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent orthopedic nursing experience.
• Current NC or Compact RN license.
• Must have orthopedic-specific experience, including EPIC system proficiency.
• Certifications: BCLS required; NIH preferred.
• Experience with IV starts and telemetry monitoring required.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• ACLS certification.
• Charge nurse experience.
• Level I trauma experience.

Additional Notes:

• RTO requests up to 7 days will be auto-approved, with requirement to work 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Must complete pre-start modules and pass an EKG test prior to start.
• Candidates must be willing to float within/near the facility to meet staffing needs.
• No holiday RTO approval during the first week.
• All submissions are subject to hospital approval and compliance with travel and crisis response requirements.
