Key Responsibilities

• Perform first assist duties in the operating room under the direction of the surgical team
• Provide direct intraoperative support including tissue handling, hemostasis, and wound closure assistance
• Maintain sterile field and adhere to all surgical aseptic techniques throughout procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and OR staff to ensure safe and efficient surgical outcomes
• Follow facility protocols and standards for patient safety and surgical care

Required Qualifications

• Active NBSTSA certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) — First Assist credential required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist with First Assist responsibilities
• Current BLS certification
• Demonstrated competency in operating room scrub and first assist techniques

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-volume acute care or trauma hospital setting
• Familiarity with cardiovascular or intensive care surgical procedures
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced OR environment
