Registered Nurse – NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)

Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to neonates in a Level III NICU, including those from 22 weeks gestation and above, with a focus on respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and infectious disease management
- Administer medications including IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids using the Pyxis medication system
- Document patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic health records system
- Utilize SBAR communication methods to facilitate effective interaction with healthcare providers and patient families
- Perform and manage specialized procedures including arterial line management, central line care, and neonatal abstinence syndrome interventions
- Oversee and adjust ventilator settings including AC, PC, SIMV, CPAP, BIPAP, and PEEP modes
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license – compact or Ohio state license required and must be in hand at time of submission
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Minimum of 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in Level III and/or Level IV NICU settings
- Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Proficiency in gastrointestinal feeding methods and management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
- Expertise in infection control measures and IV therapy, including umbilical artery and vein catheter management
