Key Responsibilities

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab setting.
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to effectively manage the clinical situation.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of employment or valid compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Ability to fulfill weekend requirement (every third or fourth weekend).
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation as collaboratively scheduled with staff.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or related nursing specialty, including exposure to cardiac caths, peripheral procedures, TAVR, and device implantation.
• Prior experience in a Critical Care setting.
