Key Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy services across inpatient hospital settings including orthopedic, neurological, trauma, and post-surgical units
- Evaluate patients' physical and functional status and establish individualized therapy goals
- Formulate and implement treatment plans consistent with established goals
- Observe, assess, and document patient status and progress accurately
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary treatment team members regarding patient condition and care
- Supervise and assist therapy technicians and assistants in resolving patient care challenges
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy (required for those licensed after 2016; those licensed prior to 2016 may qualify under prior licensure requirements with a bachelor's or master's degree)
- Active Illinois Physical Therapy license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care setting
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft Office software
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in ICU or critical care inpatient environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to process and document detailed clinical information accurately
