Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 10-bed Medical-Surgical/LTAC unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for patients with respiratory failure, post-surgical needs, wound care, IV antibiotic therapy, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac conditions
• Perform and manage PEG tube care and feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline access and maintenance, and tracheostomy patient care
• Titrate drips including Heparin per physician orders and unit protocols
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy staff on patients requiring ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen; troubleshoot respiratory equipment as needed
• Monitor telemetry in coordination with monitor technicians stationed in the ICU; interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms as appropriate
• Float to ICU or Acute Rehabilitation units as needed based on staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the Illinois licensure application process has been initiated
• Current BLS certification
• Demonstrated experience with PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline usage and maintenance, and tracheostomy patient management
• Experience titrating IV drips
• Ability to meet weekend rotation requirements (every other weekend plus as needed to fill scheduling gaps)
• Must be able to comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current ACLS certification (preferred but not required)
• Experience in an LTAC, Medical-Surgical, or ICU setting with complex, acutely ill patient populations
• Familiarity with housewide telemetry monitoring systems
