Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all assigned areas of the Emergency Psychiatric Services department
- Develop and periodically update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care for patients
- Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans accordingly
- Identify and coordinate available resources to support patient needs
- Deliver care to patients ages 5 and up presenting with psychiatric illnesses including major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, psychotic disorders, and detoxification needs
- Provide coverage flexibility across a 24/7 care environment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2-year Associate's degree in Nursing
- Valid State of Maine RN license in good standing
- BLS Certification required
- Current CPI training required prior to start
- At least 1 year of previous experience in mental health nursing
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working with pediatric and adult psychiatric populations
- Familiarity with detoxification care and medically complex psychiatric patients
