Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned telemetry patients.
• Care for patients presenting with MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and med-surg overflow; manage cardiac drips as appropriate per unit protocol.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed therapies.
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
• Assess patient and family learning needs; provide education and identify appropriate resources.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of employment or valid compact license.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Ability to work every other weekend as part of the standard schedule.
• Ability to work 36 or 48 hours per week per guaranteed schedule options.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of one year of experience in a telemetry or related nursing specialty.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience managing cardiac drips in a telemetry or step-down setting.
