Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Level IV Trauma Emergency Department treating an average of 40–60 patients per day
• Manage a patient assignment of 1:3–4 ratio, with adjusted staffing during overnight hours
• Perform triage in designated triage rooms following facility policies and procedures after orientation review
• Care for a variable patient population including traumas, MVAs, strokes, STEMIs, and other emergent presentations, with transfer protocols in place for stroke and STEMI patients
• Administer and monitor variable IV drips and collaborate with ED physicians and mid-level providers available 24/7
• Float to inpatient areas as needed to provide helping hands support

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license – must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• Current TNCC certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with cardiac monitoring and independent strip reading, as no monitor technicians are on unit
• Comfort with variable start times and rotating shift schedules including every-other-weekend requirements
