Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures including craniotomies, spine surgeries, thoracotomies, general GI/GU, vascular, and bariatric surgeries
• Manage and monitor patients at a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 14-bed PACU unit
• Perform and manage arterial line (ALINE), chest tube, and central line care
• Document patient assessments and care using the Meditech documentation system
• Monitor patients using Philips monitoring equipment and respond to changes in patient condition
• Float to other units minimally as required per unit policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of PACU experience
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience
• Minimum 2 years of overall nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing post-operative craniotomy and thoracotomy patients
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic documentation system
• Experience with ALINE, chest tube, and central line management in a post-operative setting
