Key Responsibilities
- Assess and interpret patient evaluations and test results to determine individualized occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with the care team.
- Implement therapeutic programs encompassing activities of daily living, sensorimotor activities, functional and prevocational skills, and manual arts to help patients develop or regain physical and mental functioning.
- Evaluate patient progress through ongoing observation and documentation, recommending and implementing adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Contribute to discharge planning and design home exercise programs, recommending assistive equipment and follow-up care to ensure continuity of therapeutic goals.
- Document all patient care services accurately in patient and departmental records in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Supervise rehabilitation aides and support staff development through in-service training and professional guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Active Occupational Therapy license issued by the state of Colorado.
- Valid registration and certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.
- Ability to perform at a medium physical demand level, including lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently, with full range of motion across all major joints.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous inpatient occupational therapy experience.
- Familiarity with curriculum and training design for staff instruction and patient education.
- Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary care teams including physicians, nurses, and social workers.
