Key Responsibilities

• Perform adult and pediatric transthoracic echocardiograms per established policy and store images on the archival system.
• Administer echocardiogram contrast as needed when suboptimal images are present.
• Assist cardiologists with transesophageal echocardiograms by preparing patients, recording tomographic views, and adjusting instrumentation.
• Perform treadmill and dobutamine stress echocardiograms in collaboration with the cardiologist and stress testing nurse, obtaining appropriate pre- and post-stress images.
• Ensure patient safety by maintaining a safe testing environment and correctly identifying patients using two patient identifiers.
• Complete clerical functions including study review, chart preparation for dictation, and updating procedure statuses upon completion.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Sonography program.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a cardiovascular sonographer.
• Active BLS certification.
• ARDMS Certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly inform patients about procedures and address questions.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate respectfully with interdisciplinary team members.
