Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture blood draws, heel sticks, and finger pokes; verify patient information and conduct drug screens and breathalyzers.
• Send out pathology and cytology specimens, bone marrow biopsies, and fine needle aspirates.
• Review and input patient demographics for pathology; print pathology reports and input histology charges as received.
• Order tests and prepare them to established standards.
• Review lab orders for accuracy, confirm ordering physicians, and make corrections as needed.
• Maintain awareness of and adhere to current protocols and procedural updates.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 1 or more years of related phlebotomy or laboratory work experience preferred.
• Valid and current driver's license preferred.
