Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an orthopedic unit specializing in pre-operative and post-operative care for elective and trauma patients
• Care for patients undergoing total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs, as well as orthopedic trauma cases
• Operate and manage safe patient handling equipment and orthopedic-specific equipment including CPM machines, knee immobilizers, and bone foam
• Utilize Rapid Response Teams as clinically indicated
• Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 (with possible stretch to 1:7)
• Complete unit-based orientation modules as required

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Orthopedic and trauma nursing experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed, required for all RNs regardless of specialty)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Experience with pre-op and post-op orthopedic patient populations
• Familiarity with safe patient handling protocols and orthopedic equipment
