Contract | Days | 40 hours per week | Onsite | Schedule consists of two (2) 8-hour shifts and two (2) 12-hour shifts per week; shifts may occur anytime between 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. based on staffing needs; weekend rotation distributed equitably among staff; call duties included and distributed equitably among staff
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scrub role for cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures including CABG, EVAR, TEVAR, and valve replacement
- Apply and maintain strict aseptic technique throughout all surgical cases
- Assist with general OR, thoracic, and vascular procedures as assigned
- Manage cardiovascular and thoracic instrument reprocessing
- Accurately document equipment usage and maintain equipment records
- Participate in call rotation including crash cart response, scrub, and circulate duties
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of total Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) experience
- 2+ years of cardiac and vascular surgical experience
- Minimum 1 year of CVOR-specific experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Level I Trauma facility
- Experience with cardiovascular and thoracic instrument reprocessing
- Active BLS certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system
- Experience with a broad range of CVOR procedures including CABG, EVAR, TEVAR, and valve replacement
- Familiarity with crash cart protocols and circulator responsibilities
