Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care for Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients within a Co-Care/Virtual Nursing model, maintaining a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio alongside a CNA
- Collaborate with a remote Virtual RN who assists with admissions, discharge education, care plans, CIWA monitoring, and physician follow-up
- Care for patients with surgical diagnoses including colorectal, urological, gynecological, vascular, EENT, and wound-related conditions
- Manage medical patients presenting with cancer-related diagnoses, lung and heart disease, diabetes, dementia, and substance use disorder
- Float to like units as needed to meet facility staffing requirements
- Participate in weekend coverage as determined by staffing needs, which may exceed an every-other-weekend frequency
Required Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license (pending license accepted at submission; license must be in hand prior to offer finalization)
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
- Permanent address must be located at least 50 miles from the facility
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working within a co-care or virtual nursing care model
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Prior travel nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
