Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to postpartum women and newborns on a 26-bed Mother/Baby unit with patient ratios of 6–8 patients per nurse
• Assess and identify risk factors related to sepsis, VTE/DVT, suicide, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury
• Perform and support unit procedures including circumcisions and attendance at births for newborn care
• Deliver discharge education, pain management, and prioritized patient care based on acuity and individual patient needs
• Utilize AIDET and BSSR communication frameworks in patient interactions
• Document accurately using CPN and Meditech electronic health record systems

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Mother/Baby or Postpartum nursing role
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification (required)
• Experience in postpartum care, LDRP, well baby nursery, and recovery nursing
• Proficiency with vitals monitoring equipment, glucometer, transcutaneous bilirubin (TCB) device, and standard postpartum supplies

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN degree preferred
• Cross-training or experience in pediatrics and/or NICU
• Familiarity with CPN and Meditech documentation systems
