Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care, including desired outcomes determined in coordination with the patient and family in alignment with the medical plan of care.
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition; initiate actions to alleviate patient stress and discomfort.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care activities performed by other team members.
• Facilitate patient discharge processes including discharge teaching, execution of discharge orders, and coordination with Case Management.
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTIs, and documentation auditing.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care team members.
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures.
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on computer systems and clinical applications.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous nursing experience in an operating room or surgical setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
