Key Responsibilities
- Manage and assess patients on mechanical and non-invasive ventilation across neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations; educate patients and families on ventilator care
- Perform and assess oxygen therapy, aerosol medication administration, humidification, suctioning, and chest physiotherapy; administer medications and document patient response
- Obtain, process, and report arterial blood gases independently and without direct supervision
- Provide airway management, supportive ventilation, and chest compressions during CPR; perform intubation as applicable
- Accurately document procedures, orders, and outcomes in EPIC in a timely manner
- Assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting; serve as a resource for nursing, physicians, and respiratory orientees while supporting quality improvement activities
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care
- Active Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care (KBRC) Respiratory Care Practitioner License
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Proficiency in operating respiratory care equipment with strong attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination
