Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holiday Rotation

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed Acute Rehabilitation Unit with a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio on nights
• Care for patients with neurological, neurosurgical, amputation, multi-trauma, cardiac, and complex medical diagnoses including tracheostomy patients (no ventilators)
• Attend required team conferences as part of the acute inpatient rehabilitation program
• Manage and monitor telemetry packs as needed; telemetry is not independently monitored by RNs but RNs utilize tele packs
• Administer set-rate drips (e.g., heparin) as ordered; titration of drips is not required
• Float to LTAC and med-surg units as needed; complete unit-specific orientation including rehabilitation documentation and QRP systems

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong neurological nursing skills
• Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and participate in holiday rotation
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in acute rehabilitation, neuro, or neurosurgical nursing
• Familiarity with tracheostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula (non-heated)
• Experience with rehabilitation-specific documentation and quality reporting processes
