Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Rotating weekends and holidays | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 108-bed Level III NICU with patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:4
- Manage care for neonatal patients including premature infants, surgical patients, cardiac patients, and trach infants
- Perform and assist with unit procedures including central line insertions, circumcisions, exploratory laps, gastroschisis reductions, and PDA ligations
- Manage central lines and provide respiratory management up to and including care of intubated patients using equipment such as Bubble CPAP, ventilators, oscillators, and nasal cannula
- Utilize documentation systems including CPN and Meditech for accurate and timely charting
- Float as needed to related areas including PICU, Pediatrics, and CICU, providing care for patients under 2 years of age
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license eligible to practice in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Level III NICU experience
- Experience caring for premature infants 28 weeks gestational age and above
- Proficiency in central line management and respiratory management including intubated patients
- Current BLS certification
- Current NRP certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for infants under 27 weeks gestational age
- Experience with surgical neonatal patients including cardiac patients and trach infants
- Familiarity with Broviac catheter care
- Experience with NIRS monitoring and isolette/warmer management
