Registered Nurse – Pre-Op / Short Stay

Contract | Travel | Days | Full-Time | 13-Week Assignment | Monday–Friday with rotating weekend call | Start Time: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative nursing care to patients undergoing General Surgery, Orthopedics, Plastics, and Cath Lab procedures
- Perform and interpret EKGs, glucometer readings, and bedside monitoring
- Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records (EMR)
- Maintain a patient ratio of 3:1 in a 13-bed Pre-Op/Short Stay unit
- Float as needed between Pre-Op, Phase 2, and PAT areas
- Participate in rotating weekend call coverage (Saturday 0700 – Monday 0700, approximately every 4–5 weeks)
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of Pre-Op nursing experience
- Proficiency with Meditech Magic EMR
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to work rotating weekday and weekend call schedules
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Competency in both Pre-Op and Phase 2 (PACU) nursing care
- Excellent IV insertion and management skills
- Flexible and motivated to learn new skills across floating areas
