Medical Laboratory Technician / Clinical Lab Scientist (Evening Shift)

Contract | Evening Shift | No weekend requirements | Possible on-call as needed | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and receive biological specimens (blood, urine, fecal, body fluid) for analysis across all clinical laboratory departments
• Perform complex laboratory procedures; recognize deviations from expected results and apply scientific principles to analyze and correct problems
• Analyze quality control data, make judgments regarding results, and take appropriate corrective action to maintain accuracy and precision
• Participate in the evaluation of new laboratory techniques and procedures; write and revise technical procedures as needed
• Respond to inquiries regarding test results, methodology, test specificity and sensitivity, and factors that may influence results
• Review instrument indicators and temperature monitors across laboratory departments and maintain self-competency in all laboratory skills

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (Associates degree accepted for grandfathered personnel)
• CLS or MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent required
• New MT graduates must pass certification exam within 6 months of employment start date
• Strong proficiency in Epic EMR is required
• Experience as a lab generalist with phlebotomy skills included

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with any of the following analyzers: Abbott Alinity, ACL Tops 350, GeneXpert, Beckman Coulter, Torch, or Clinitek
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate and troubleshoot problems related to collection and processing of specimens across all age ranges
