Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MT/MLS)

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain, receive, process, analyze, and report accurate laboratory specimen results across departments including Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Blood Gas, and Phlebotomy
• Recognize abnormal and critical test results and refer to the Pathologist as required
• Perform, document, and maintain quality control procedures in accordance with quality assurance guidelinesli>Operate, monitor, and maintain laboratory equipment safely and in compliance with established protocols
• Perform phlebotomy on patients across all age groups, from neonatal to geriatric
• Maintain compliance with infection control practices, universal precautions, and applicable regulatory standards including IDPH, OSHA, CMS, HIPAA, and DHHS

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited MLT/CLS or MT/MLS program
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Applied Science, or a chemical, physical, or biological science discipline
• Current ASCP or AMT certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• One to three months of related laboratory experience or training preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
