Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Post-Surgical Unit)

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3x12-hour shifts per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-volume post-surgical unit serving urology and GYN surgical populations
• Manage a patient assignment within a typical 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms including sinus rhythms, heart blocks, lethal rhythms, atrial rhythms, junctional rhythms, and pacing
• Rotate every other weekend and fulfill holiday requirements as defined by the contract, including two of three winter holidays
• Complete required pre-start compliance modules prior to the first day of orientation

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of recent, relevant Medical Surgical or Telemetry nursing experience
• Active Virginia RN license or active Compact RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
• Proficiency in Epic electronic health records — no exceptions
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Must pass a telemetry/EKG competency test with a score of 80% or higher prior to start (one attempt; no remediation available)
• Must be able to pass standard fit testing requirements (PAPR accommodation is not available)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Familiarity with post-surgical patient populations, including urology and GYN
