Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within a Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) setting, monitoring and managing patients requiring intermediate-level nursing care
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols
• Accurately document patient assessments, care provided, and clinical outcomes in the electronic health record
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care team members to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate care appropriately as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or a Compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in a PCU, IMC, or Stepdown unit
• Current BLS certification required; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS) may be required per unit standards
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills appropriate for intermediate-level patient acuity

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in a PCU or Stepdown setting
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in large acute care hospital environments
• Experience working in a high-volume regional referral or trauma center
