Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Midshift: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department with up to 101 beds and patient ratios of 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds
- Utilize Cerner for clinical documentation and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient information throughout each visit
- Operate unit equipment including Baxter pumps and GE monitors in accordance with department protocols
- Float within all sections of the emergency department as needed to meet departmental staffing needs
- Adhere to patient experience standards including AIDET communication, respectful behavior, and consistent patient updates
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including techs, cardiac monitoring staff, triage personnel, and unit clerks
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an emergency department setting
- Active RN licensure
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start date
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the emergency department
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 years of experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED exceeding 100,000 annual visits
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records system
- Experience working in a culturally diverse patient population
