Sterile Processing Technician

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM (5x8 Evening Shift) | Occasional scheduled holidays | May be required to float to other locations

Key Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination of all items including drills, robotic surgical instruments, and scopes
• Assemble instruments across all service lines including trauma sets, loaner trays, and peel packaging
• Execute sterilization processes including Sterrad and steam sterilization
• Perform High-Level Disinfection (HLD) and scope reprocessing
• Manage sterile storage and serve as OR Liaison as needed
• Utilize the Censitrac instrument tracking system for accurate documentation and traceability

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of sterile processing experience in a comparable high-volume or Level I Trauma facility
• Active CBSPD or CRCST certification (through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM) required
• Experience across all areas of a sterile processing department including decontamination, assembly, sterilization, HLD, and sterile storage
• 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership capacity
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this assignment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with robotic surgical instrument reprocessing (e.g., da Vinci systems)
• Prior OR Liaison experience in a high-acuity surgical environment
• Familiarity with Censitrac or similar instrument tracking systems
• Experience with loaner tray management and coordination with vendor representatives
