Travel RN – Medical/Surgical (Nights)

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for patients on a Medical/Surgical unit with a focus on post-surgical (orthopedic, general surgery) and neurological populations
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner
• Assess patient and family learning needs; provide education and identify appropriate resources
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to manage clinical situations effectively

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical nursing specialty
• Minimum of 1 prior completed travel nursing assignment required prior to submission
• Willingness and ability to float to other units as needed
• Availability to work weekends based on scheduling needs

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
