Contract | Days (6:30 AM Start) | Monday–Friday with Call Required | 8-Hour Shifts | 6-Tier On-Call System for Nights and Weekends
Key Responsibilities
- Cover all types of cardiac cases regardless of complexity, including CABG, valve procedures, adult congenital, dissections, complex aortic, and minimally invasive surgeries
- Provide ECMO coverage in-house 24/7, responding to cannulations, decannulations, circuit manipulations, CT transports, and physical therapy sessions; also support ECMO transports from outside facilities
- Support cardiac, thoracic, and liver transplants, including lung transplants on ECMO
- Cover TAVRs and LLE in CL/EP, mechanical thrombectomies, and HIPEC cases
- Operate point-of-care (POC) devices as required throughout case coverage
- Provide standby coverage for sporadic combination cases with vascular surgery
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of perfusionist experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility
- ABCP – American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion Certification required
- Tennessee Clinical Perfusionist License required
- High school diploma or college degree required (as mandated for CAPS certification eligibility)
- Ability to operate POC devices
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel assignment experience preferred
- Experience with NRP (Normothermic Regional Perfusion) cases
- Familiarity with a broad range of transplant cases including heart, lung, and liver
