Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care as a circulator and/or scrub on the thoracic/vascular OR team in a large, Level 1 trauma facility with a 56-bed OR (inpatient and outpatient) and 5 procedural rooms
- Support a full range of case types including neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms, ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary
- Demonstrate proficiency in endovascular cases as a core function of the thoracic/vascular team, functioning in both circulator and scrub roles
- Participate in late-stay assignments based on unit need; travelers are expected to take approximately four late stays per 13-week period, typically not exceeding one hour past normal end of shift
- Care for adult patient populations across a wide range of diagnoses including transplant and trauma; pediatric OR is a separate unit
- May float between OR rooms within the same facility as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Tennessee RN license or compact RN license required at time of submission
- Required certification must be current and on file at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of OR experience required
- Thoracic/vascular OR experience is required for this position
- Proficiency in both circulator and scrub roles, including scrub experience in endovascular cases
- Prior travel nursing experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a high-acuity, high-volume OR environment such as a Level 1 trauma center
- Familiarity with hybrid room procedures including cystoscopy, bronchoscopy, and lead extraction
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgical cases
- Comfort working a flexible schedule without a block schedule guarantee
